On September 12th, the renowned Dr. Benedetto Ielpo, Head of the HPB Surgical Unit at Hospital del Mar in Barcelona, will represent the LIVERATION project at the Italian-French Symposium 2025: Updates on Oncologic Abdominal Surgery, held at the Centro Multimediale INMI L. Spallanzani in Rome.
During the symposium, Dr. Ielpo will lead a session titled:
“From Research to Practice: How LIVERATION and Radiofrequency Ablation Trials May Redefine HPB Surgery”
This session offers a unique opportunity to discuss how innovative, minimally invasive treatments — including the COOLINGBIS device developed within the LIVERATION project — may transform surgical approaches to liver cancer.
The session, set in an open coffee break format to encourage informal exchange, will gather surgeons, researchers, and European experts in abdominal oncologic surgery. Dr. Ielpo’s participation highlights not only LIVERATION’s role at the forefront of clinical innovation, but also the project’s commitment to international collaboration, knowledge transfer, and the clinical application of scientific advances.
