LIVERATION keeps joining forces. San Raffaele Hospital in Milan is now active in the trial and has recruited and treated its first two patients.
With this addition, Italy now has four centres with randomised patients in the trial: San Raffaele (Milan), the National Cancer Institute in Naples, Miulli Hospital in Acquaviva delle Fonti and San Camillo Forlanini Hospital in Rome. Each new centre adds hands, experience and momentum to a single question: can a treatment applied during the operation itself help stop liver cancer from coming back?
Recruitment update
The latest follow-up report, dated 25 September, records 423 randomised patients in the trial, out of a total target of 720.
