Hello to all LIVERATION followers! In this edition of our newsletter, we highlight the most significant progress we’ve made over the past months. From key milestones in clinical trials to innovative collaborations across Europe, we continue advancing the fight against cancer and strengthening alliances for a global impact. Here are the key points:
LIVERATION and the Diagnostics & Treatment Cluster
We are proud to be part of the Diagnostics & Treatment Cluster, an initiative supported by Horizon Europe’s Cancer Mission. This cluster brings together 12 innovative projects working to optimize cancer diagnosis and treatment.
In September, we participated in the 1st Horizon Europe Cancer Mission ‘Diagnosis and Treatment’ Cluster Meeting, held at the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology in Barcelona. This event provided a unique opportunity to share strategies and strengthen collaboration among European projects, all united by the common goal of improving outcomes for cancer patients.
Progress in the LIVERATION Clinical Trial
We are pleased to share that we have reached 61 randomized patients in the clinical trial, reinforcing our research and bringing us closer to our goals. Additionally, we are excited to announce that the first randomized patient outside Spain is now being treated at the University Medical Centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia, marking the project’s continued expansion across Europe.
Ethical Approvals in More Countries
The clinical trial protocol has received Ethics Committee approval in Spain, Poland, Italy, Slovenia, and Switzerland, ensuring the highest standards of safety and transparency. We are now in the process of obtaining approval in France and Greece, reflecting our ongoing commitment to conducting safe and ethical research.
Innovative Practices for Stakeholder Engagement in European Cancer Projects
LIVERATION has actively contributed to this publication, which brings together 10 European projects to promote the inclusive involvement of patients, policymakers, and healthcare professionals in cancer research. This collective effort emphasizes the transformative impact of interdisciplinary collaboration.
1st Annual Meeting in Athens: A Step Forward for the Future
This past September, we held the 1st Annual LIVERATION Meeting in Athens, where project partners discussed the achievements of the first year, including training sessions on the use of the Coolingbis device and the implementation of tools like PROMs and PREMs. This meeting served as a key moment for reflection and coordination as we continue to drive the project’s objectives forward in the coming year.
Let’s Keep Moving Forward Together!
Every step we take in LIVERATION reflects our commitment to researching and developing innovative solutions for liver cancer treatment. For more details about these milestones, we invite you to download the full newsletter on our website.
